Jayson Tatum anotó 31 puntos, Jaylen Brown agregó 18 y los Celtics de Boston aseguraron la segunda posición de la Conferencia Este con una victoria el domingo de 139-110 sobre los Grizzlies de Memphis, en el final de la temporada regular para los dos equipos.

Al Horford agregó 13 unidades por los Celtics, que acertaron cerca de 55% de sus tiros de campo contra unos diezmados Grizzlies. Con la derrota de Milwaukee ante Cleveland horas antes, Boston pudo subir al segundo lugar con la victoria.

Santi Aldama lideró la ofensiva de Memphis con 20 puntos y Ziaire Williams terminó con 18 tantos. John Konchar logró el primer triple doble de su carrera con 17 puntos, 13 tableros y 10 asistencias. Kyle Anderson anotó 16 unidades.

Los equipos adoptaron diferentes enfoques del juego en función de sus posiciones en la clasificación. Memphis estaba cerrando la campaña regular tras asegurar el segundo sembrado en la Conferencia Oeste, detrás de los Suns de Phoenix.

Boston se enfrascó en un duelo cerrado por los sitios del dos al cuatro en la siembra, compitiendo por una mejor ubicación en la postemporada con Milwaukee y Filadelfia. Eso significaba que todos los titulares de los Celtics estaban jugando contra las reservas de los Grizzlies.

Y la alineación improvisada de Memphis no pudo seguir el ritmo de la rotación regular de los Celtics.
