Rodolfo Castro sumó dos hits para activar la ofensiva al día siguiente de una pifia con el celular, y los Piratas de Pittsburgh derrotaron 6-4 el miércoles a los Diamondbacks de Arizona.

El dominicano de 23 años dejó por error el celular en el bolsillo trasero de sus pantalones durante el juego del martes, y el dispositivo salió despedido cuando el pelotero se lanzó de cabeza a tercera base. No era la imagen que quería dar el joven, que ha repartido su tiempo entre las ligas menores y las mayores durante los dos últimos años y acaba de ser ascendido del Indianapolis de Triple A.

El miércoles dejó el celular atrás, pero claramente recordó traer el bate.

Pese a algunas bromas del escaso público en su primer turno al bate, Castro conectó un sencillo. Añadió un triple en el sexto y anotó en un doble de Greg Allen para poner el 5-2.

El abridor de los Piratas Mitch Keller (4-8) admitió tres carreras y cinco hits en 5 innings y un tercio. El derecho dio un boleto y ponchó a tres.

La derrota fue al registro del izquierdo Madison Bumgarner (6-11), que admitió cinco carreras y ocho hits en seis innings, con ocho ponches y dos pasaportes.

Por los Piratas, el dominicano Rodolfo Castro de 4-2 con una anotada. El venezolano Tucupita Marcano de 3-1 con una anotada y una remolcada.

Por los Diamondbacks, los dominicanos Ketel Marte de 4-1 con una impulsada; Geraldo Perdomo de 2-0. El puertorriqueño Emmanuel Rivera de 4-1.
