Cardenales se sacuden mala racha al vencer 2-0 a Rojos

Andre Pallante llevó una blanqueada hasta la sexta entrada en su segunda apertura en las las mayores, ayudando el viernes a los Cardenales de San Luis a sacudirse una racha de tres derrotas con un triunfo 2-0 sobre los Rojos de Cincinnati.

Pallante (2-0) aceptó cuatro imparables y dos bases por bolas en cinco entradas y un tercio y ponchó a tres.

Génesis Cabrera y el mexicano Giovanny Gallegos se combinaron para lanzar dos innings y dos tercios en blanco antes de que Ryan Helsley se encargara del noveno para lograr su cuarto salvamento en seis oportunidades.

El dominicano Luis Castillo (2-4) aceptó dos carreras, una de ellas limpia, con seis imparables durante seis entradas, en lo que fue la tercera derrota seguida de Cincinnati.

Paul Goldschmidt caminó con dos outs en la parte baja de la primera para acumular 46 juegos consecutivos embasándose. Anotó cuando Nolan Arenado pegó un sencillo al jardín derecho y el tiro con que el dominicano Arístides Aquino trató de retirarlo después de dar la vuelta en primera base, se le escapó a Joey Votto.

Arenado anotó cuando Tyler O’Neill pegó un sencillo a tercera y el tiro de Brandon Drury se le escapó a Votto, para darle la ventaja de 2-0 a San Luis.

Por los Rojos, el dominicano Aristides Aquino de 4-1 y el mexicano Alejo López de 4-0.
