Mark Canha inauguró el encuentro on el primero de sus cuatro hits y los Mets de Nueva York totalizaron 17 imparables para aplastar el martes 10-0 a los Nacionales de Washington.

El dominicano Starling Marte siguió a Canha, bateando un jonrón ante Patrick Corbin, para poner en marcha el ataque feroz de los Mets.

Jeff McNeil sumó tres hits, el venezolano Eduardo Escobar añadió un jonrón, el puertorriqueño Francisco Lindor extendió su racha a nueve juegos remolcando carrera y todos los titulares de Nueva York tuvieron al menos un imparable.

Los Mets, que habían vapuleado 13-5 a Washington en su duelo anterior, propinaron otra paliza.

Líder de la División Este de la Liga Americana, Nueva York ha ganado cinco duelos consecutivos, todos durante esta estadía de seis juegos en casa, que concluye este miércoles, ante los mismos Nacionales.

Corbin (1-8) permitió siete anotaciones y 12 hits.

Trevor Williams (1-3) cubrió cinco episodios en blanco ante una alineación de Washington carente del dominicano Nelson Cruz, quien se ausentó por un golpe en el tobillo izquierdo.

Por los Nacionales, los venezolanos César Hernández de 4-0, Keibert Ruiz de 3-0, Alcides Escobar de 1-0. Los dominicanos Juan Soto de 3-0, Maikel Franco de 4-2, Víctor Robles de 3-0. El cubano Yadiel Hernández de 4-0.

Por los Mets, el dominicano Marte de 5-1 con una anotada y dos producidas. El puertorriqueño Lindor de 5-1 con dos impulsadas, Tomás Nido de 4-1 con una anotada. Los venezolanos Escobar de 5-2 con dos anotadas y dos impulsadas, Luis Guillorme de 5-2 con dos impulsadas.
