Cachorros superan a Piratas 6-5 con sencillo de Quiroz

El mexicano Esteban Quiroz conectó un sencillo productor de la carrera de la ventaja en la octava entrada, su segundo en tres innings y los Cachorros de Chicago superaron 6-5 a los Piratas de Pittsburgh el viernes para conseguir su cuarta victoria al hilo.

Quiroz pegó una línea al jardín izquierdo con dos outs en contra del dominicano Yohan Ramírez (1-1) en la octava entrada, impulsando a Jared Young. Dos entradas antes, conectó un sencillo dentro del cuadro que coronó una sexta entrada de tres carreras para los Cachorros, que han ganado ocho de 11.

Los Piratas (55-96) han perdido ocho en fila, y necesitan ganar al menos ocho de los últimos 11 para no llegar a 100 derrotas por décima vez.

El mexicano Manuel Rodríguez (2-0) aceptó una carrera, con un cuadrangular que empató la pizarra por parte de Bryan Reynolds en la séptima. Cubrió dos innings de labor por Chicago y terminó llevándose el triunfo.

Erich Uelmen ponchó a Cal Mitchell con las bases llenas en la novena para lograr su primer salvamento en las Grandes Ligas.

Por los Cachorros, el mexicano Esteban Quiroz de 4-2 con dos carreras producidas. El boricua Nelson Velázquez de 1-1. El dominicano Franmil Reyes impulsó una carrera.

Por los Piratas, los dominicanos Oneil Cruz de 4-0 con una anotada y Rodolfo Castro de 4-0.
