La policía de Los Ángeles buscaba el martes a un hombre sospechoso de apuñalar al empleado de un hospital, provocando el cierre de la instalación.

La policía acudió al Mission Community Hospital a eso de las 6:30 p.m. del lunes tras recibir denuncias de un hombre con puñal, informó la oficial Annie Hernandez.

La agente añadió que los agentes hallaron a un hombre herido a puñaladas en el hospital, ubicado en el vecindario de Panorama City en el San Fernando Valley.

Craig Garner, vocero del hospital, luego identificó a la víctima como empleado del lugar y dijo que el ataque ocurrió fuera de la instalación.

“El empleado fue trasladado en condición estable a otra instalación”, dijo Garner al diario Los Angeles Times.

De momento no se sabe si el atacante y su víctima se conocían o si se trató de un ataque al azar, dijo Garner.

Las autoridades ordenaron cerrar todos los accesos al hospital por un tiempo mientras la policía realizaba su búsqueda.

El sospechoso llevaba un suéter negro con capucha, una gorra negra y una mochila negra, dijo Hernandez.
