Dansby Swanson anotó la carrera de la ventaja en el quinto acto, gracias a una caótica secuencia de jugadas de los Filis, y los Bravos de Atlanta doblegaron el miércoles 8-4 a Filadelfia.

Swanson conectó un sencillo y terminó anotando para dar a los Bravos la ventaja por 5-4 en una acción que comenzó con un wild pitch del relevista venezolano José Alvarado (0-2) y siguió con un tiro demasiado alto del cátcher J.T. Realmuto en un intento por evitar que Swanson llegara a la intermedia.

Y luego vino lo peor.

La pelota se escapó pese a que el intermedista dominicano Jean Segura y el campocorto Bryson Slott estiraron los brazos. Luego, pasó por debajo del guante del jardinero central venezolano Odúbel Herrera, para un error que costó dos bases.

Pareció que Segura o Slott estaban en condiciones de atrapar la bola. No se marcó error a ninguno.

Herrera terminó retrocediendo para recoger la esférica en la franja de advertencia.

Spencer Strider (1-1) se llevó la victoria como relevista.

Por los Filis, el dominicano Segura de 5-2 con una anotada y una empujada. El venezolano Herrera de 4-2 con una anotada y dos producidas.

Por los Bravos, el dominicano Marcell Ozuna de 5-1. Los venezolanos William Contreras de 2-1 con dos anotadas y una empujada, Orlando Arcia de 3-2 con una anotada y una remolcada
