David Bote conectó un jonrón que empató la pizarra en el séptimo episodio y agregó un elevado de sacrificio en la octava para que los Cachorros de Chicago superaran el martes por 2-1 a los Marlins de Miami.

El mexicano Esteban Quiroz consiguió los primeros dos hits de su carrera en las Grandes Ligas y P.J. Higgins sumó otros dos imparables por los Cachorros, que pusieron fin a una racha de tres derrotas.

Quiroz, de 30 años, fue convocado el sábado de la Triple-A.

Chicago llenó las bases sin outs y sin ningún hit en la octava entrada frente al relevista Steven Okert (5-3).

Michael Hermosillo fue golpeado por un lanzamiento y Zach McKinstry se embasó con un toque de sacrificio cuando el catcher Jacob Stallings lanzó tarde a segunda. Quiroz tocó para un sencillo y Bote conectó un elevado que significó la ventaja.

El venezolano Adbert Alzolay (1-1) lanzó dos entradas perfectas como relevista. Brandon Hughes cerró con una novena sin recibir anotación y se sobrepuso al doble con el que Garrett Cooper inauguró la entrada, antes de lograr su sexto rescate.

Por los Cachorros, el mexicano Esteban Quiroz de 3-2. El puertorriqueño Nelson Velázquez de 4-0.

Por los Marlins, el venezolano Miguel Rojas de 4-1. Los dominicanos Bryan de la Cruz de 4-1, Lewin Díaz de 3-1.
