El novato de los Padres José Azocar remolcó a Manny Machado con un sencillo con dos outs y las bases llenas en el 10mo inning, y San Diego superó el lunes 3-2 a los Cerveceros de Milwaukee, líderes de la División Central de la Liga Nacional.

Machado, el toletero más en forma de la Nacional, inició el episodio como corredor automático en la segunda base y avanzó en un roletazo de out de Jurickson Profar. El dominicano Miguel Sánchez (0-1), quien cargó con la derrota, dio boletos intencionales a Eric Hosmer y Wil Myers para llenar las bases antes de que Kim Ha-seong sacase un batazo hacia Luís Urías, exjugador de los Padres.

Azocar tomó entonces el bate y sacudió un sencillo al centro para remolcar a Machado en la quinta victoria al hilo de los Padres.

El cerrador dominicano de San Diego, Luis García (3-2), se apuntó la victoria con una entrada con pelota de un hit.

Por los Cerveceros, el mexicano Luis Urías de 5-2. El venezolano Omar Narváez de 2-0.

Por los Padres, el dominicano Robinson Canó de 3-0. El colombiano Jorge Alfaro de 4-0, con una producida. El venezolano José Azocar de 2-2, con una impulsada.
