Justin Verlander obtuvo su octava victoria, la mayor cantidad en Grandes Ligas esta temporada, Jeremy Peña y José Altuve aportaron cuadrangulares y los Astros de Houston se sacudieron una racha de tres derrotas con un triunfo de 9-4 sobre los Marlins de Miami el domingo.

Verlander (8-2) retiró a los primeros 10 bateadores que enfrentó antes de permitir un sencillo al jardín derecho en la cuarta entrada.

Verlander aceptó cuatro carreras sucias y tres imparables, entregó una base por bolas y ponchó a cinco en siete entradas, bajando su promedio de carreras limpias a 1,94. Fue la primera victoria de Verlander en contra de Miami y su tercera apertura que lleva hasta la séptima entrada.

Por los Marlins los dominicanos Bryan de la Cruz de 3-1 con una anotada y tres carreras producidas y Jesús Sánchez de 4-0; los venezolanos Willians Astudillo de 4-1 con una anotada, Miguel Rojas de 4-1 y Jesús Aguilar de 4-0; y el cubano Jorge Soler de 4-0 con una anotada.

Por los Astros el venezolano Altuve de 5-3 con dos carreras anotadas y tres impulsadas; los dominicanos Jeremy Peña de 3-2 con 2 anotadas y 2 producidas y José Siri de 3-0 con una anotada; y los cubanos Yordan Álvarez de 4-3 con dos anotadas y Yuli Gurriel de 3-1 con una anotada.
